Job Summary
The Outpatient Medical Coder is tasked with assigning accurate ICD-10- CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient services, ensuring compliance with coding standards and facilitating appropriate reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
- Review outpatient medical records, including same-day surgeries and clinic visits, to assign accurate CPT/HCPCS Level II and ICD-10-CM codes for diagnoses and procedures.
- Ensure coding accuracy for procedures and diagnoses to support billing and reimbursement processes.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation as needed.
- Adhere to organizational coding policies and procedures.
- Participate in coding audits and implement feedback for continuous improvement.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education – Must a have bachelor’s degree.
- Certification – Should be either Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC).
- Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience required.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
